Exercise 5: TRUE & FALSE STORIES

Write 2 short stories. One is completely TRUE. One is completely FALSE.

ONE

I worked at the Esplanade last year during the Malay Festival of Arts. I was at the outdoor sound booth doing the voice over for the show when I heard some commotion from behind. Two guys were having an argument with a big burly tattooed guy. The big guy suddenly slashed the two guys on the face with a parang he wrapped under a newspaper. He ran off and left the two guys bleeding behind my sound booth.

TWO

I worked at the Esplanade last year during the Malay festival of arts. I was in the backstage smoking room smoking my cigarette when Gurmit Singh came in and asked me if he could borrow my lighter. He then asked me for my name and I told him I’m applying for a course in Ngee Ann. He wished me luck and gave me his namecard if I wanted to build my portfolio. The stage manager called for him through the house speakers and he left the smoking room.
